It was decided to combine the linear calculation with the decimal system by dividing the centimetre into 10 parts. The error was increased by the number Pi (3.141592653589...) by adjusting the distance between the millimetres to this number. The square root of the number Pi shows an eight after the decimal point of the nine. Later, the distance between the millimetres could have been adjusted to the number 3.16227766067, whose square root shows 11 nines after the decimal point of the ten, i.e. close to the end of the ten.
The method of linear marking could be perfect if the number 3 were used by dividing the centimetre into 9 parts. Then the results would not only be approximate, but extremely accurate. And it would not interfere with the decimal system. For example, a litre of water or mercury is not measured in centimetres, but in weight and volume.
